Your Donations At Work: Body Cameras for UCSD Deputies

Thanks to donations from local citizens through the LESS Crime Act, the Union County Sheriff’s Foundation was able to purchase body cameras for deputies with the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Pictured on Deputy Lilly Carpenter, the body cameras help protect both law enforcement officers and the public by providing an objective record of interactions and incidents.

The mission of the Union County Sheriff’s Foundation is to enhance the community and
help keep Union County one of the best places to live in Georgia. Through the LESS Crime Act, a Georgia program that provides taxpayers with a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit, businesses and individuals can choose to direct a portion of their Georgia tax dollars to support their local sheriff’s office. Taxpayers receive a tax credit while their contributions go directly toward improving public safety in their community.

Funds received through the LESS Crime Act can be used to purchase equipment, provide specialized training for deputies, support K-9 programs, maintain equipment, and meet other law enforcement needs. The program is endorsed by Sheriff Shawn Dyer.
